Studio Mir’s DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Book 3 Will Be Released On Netflix This August

Studio Mir, a Korean animation production studio that sets out to go public, announced today that its Netflix animated series DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Book 3 will have its world-exclusive premiere on August 11th.

DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Book 3 is the animated adaptation of the popular MOBA(Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game DOTA 2. Studio Mir took charge of the whole production from pre-production to post-production, the same as the last two seasons.

First released on Netflix last year, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood ranked in the top 10 over the 46 countries according to Flixpatrol (the global Netflix contents rating website). The series reached number 6 in the chart, outranking many live-action series, comedy shows, and documentary films. It was a phenomenal record that no other Korean animation studios had ever achieved.

Studio Mir confidently assured that they elevated the overall CG quality over the last seasons and put extra care into every little detail for DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Book 3. Especially, Book 3 highlighted the expansive fantasy world of DOTA 2 with new elements such as additional game-original characters and unseen environments.

The studio also stated, “The new season will give the audience the great opportunity to enjoy elaborate and magnificent visuals through emotional drama sequences and grand CG works. We hope the global game IP DOTA 2 grows to be a more beloved franchise and let us show the potential capability of Korean animation worldwide.”

Korean animation production studio, Studio Mir is famed for producing the Netflix American TV series chart-topped The Legend of Korra, as well as The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, Voltron Legendary Defender, Big Fish & Begonia, etc. Studio Mir is the only Korean studio to have signed a production line deal with Netflix since October 2020.
