TRAILER FOR ANIMATED MORTAL KOMBAT MOVIE TEASES BRUTAL ACTION
In case you hadn’t noticed, we’re incredibly excited about the upcoming 2021 live action Mortal Kombat movie. But if you can’t wait until next year, we’ve got good news for you as today IGN revealed the first trailer for the recently announced Warner Bros. R-Rated animated film based on the iconic (and very, very violent) fighting game series.
Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge comes from two DC Animated Universe stars. Batman: Assault on Arkham’s Ethan Spaulding directs whilst Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans’ Jeremy Adams takes on writing duties. As fans of the lauded DC Animated Universe this makes a lot of sense. Warner Bros. has some of the best animators in the business so why not turn their deft hands to another of their properties? From the trailer here it looks like the team have bought their A-Game as we get to see a selection of classic characters facing down at the cosmic tournament that is known as… Mortal Kombat!
According to the site the official description of the awesome R-Rated animated flick is as follows:
“Based on the worldwide hit game created by Ed Boon & John Tobias, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge spotlights the once-in-a-generation tournament between the champions of Outworld and Earthrealm—a competition that will ultimately determine the fate of Earth and all its citizens. Lord Raiden, protector of Earthrealm, must gather the greatest fighters of his realm to defend it from the evil Shang Tsung in the battle to end all battles—Mortal Kombat!
